Graham Joins Forces with Children’s Link & Layne MacGillivray
At the 2017 Calgary Stampede, Graham saddled-up with Children’s Link, a Calgary-based non-profit that connects parents of children with special needs with resources and much-needed support.
Throughout Stampede week, Graham challenged employees to raise $5,000 towards Children’s Link through fundraisers and donations. Employees stepped up to the challenge, donating their hard-earned dollars to food truck fundraisers, raffle ticket draws and 50/50 contests!
These fundraising activities coincided with Graham’s first-ever sponsorship of Chuckwagon Driver Layne MacGillivray. On July 12, Graham hosted a charity event for Children’s Link during the chuckwagon races, giving key clients and partners a unique and unforgettable back-at-the-barns Stampede experience, and an opportunity to meet Layne MacGillivray. Graham proudly displayed the Children’s Link logo on Layne’s chuckwagon for the evening in hopes of increasing awareness for the outstanding charity.
“Children’s Link is so appreciative of the support from Graham,” says Blythe Gunn, Executive Director, Children’s Link. “They donated generously to our programs. Graham values family and community working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve unified project results that serve the community as a whole. Children’s Link is made up of mindful leaders in the disability sector and work tirelessly to harness the collective energy of their community and staff by partnering with other organizations, participating on influential committees, and working closely with their funders. These values closely align with Graham and this was very apparent.”
Children’s Link is a disability serving agency honouring the uniqueness and beauty of each child and family, working closely with them to inspire courage, hope, and empowerment. From coffee socials to one-to-one support, Children’s Link programs and services connect families with staff, and with one another, to celebrate the triumphs and embrace the challenges of parenting a child with a disability.
