Graham Group Ltd. Honoured with Generosity of Spirit Award
Graham Group Ltd., a leading ‘constructions solutions partner’, was honoured today with the Generosity of Spirit Award, in the category of Corporate Philanthropist, for their work and partnership with Hospice Calgary.
“We are extremely humbled and thankful for this recognition,” says Bill Flaig, President and CEO. “Partnering with Hospice Calgary has been a perfect fit for us. We wanted to align with an organization whose services were far-reaching, broad in nature and could be needed by anyone, at anytime; essentially, Hospice Calgary.”
In donating an estimated $500,000 in services, Graham’s employees, along with numerous suppliers and subcontractors, helped to create private counseling spaces, a staff room, a kitchen and a therapy room for children to help them work through the complex grief when losing a loved one. And the work didn’t stop inside; phase two of the project provided Hospice clients and staff with a beautiful outdoor patio.
“We nominated Graham for this recognition because they are a most deserving group of people,” says Sarah Walker, Executive Director, Hospice Calgary. “At the heart of Graham’s business philosophy are the things that Hospice Calgary cherishes most – delivering high-quality service to clients; a commitment to positive change, and a vision of always doing the best job possible to ensure client satisfaction and wellness. It’s amazing what a construction company and a hospice services agency can have in common!”
The Generosity of Spirit program recognizes and celebrates individuals and organizations (volunteers, leaders, donors) that make a difference to organizations and to the non-profit community in Alberta; honourees are recognized on National Philanthropy Day.
