Graham Pursues the RAM

Aug 18 2011

Graham Group Ltd. is in an exciting competition, recently submitting a RFP to the Alberta Government to design-build the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM), intended to become an iconic institution respected worldwide.

To ensure the RAM is both memorable and identifiable, the Graham Royal Alberta Museum Consortium (GRAMC) team enlisted world-renowned museum architect Richard Meier to conceive a fitting landmark within Edmonton’s emerging Cultural District. The image of the new Royal Alberta Museum is one of quiet beauty. It is subtly elegant, well proportioned, and expressive of its functional components. Its lightness and transparency – the signature whiteness of a Meier-conceived building – is destined to become a timeless work of enduring beauty.

The Alberta Government is seeking public feedback on each design, which will support their final decision on who will be awarded the RAM contract. The opportunity to provide comments is available on http://www.infrastructure.alberta.ca/3688.htm August 18 to 23. The winning design will be announced the week of August 29.
