Oct 22 2012

Graham has won the General Contractor over $40 million Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA)award for the Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals (KVH) P3 Project. The VRCA Gold awards honour BC’s top construction contractors annually for their use of special techniques and procedures, new materials and additional artistic or innovative features on their project.

“Winning this prestigious award is a testament to the skill, dedication and professionalism of the Graham staff who worked on this project. To be recognized by our industry as being the ‘best of the best’, against a very tough slate of competition, clearly establishes Graham as an industry leader,” says Dave Corcoran, Graham’s Vice President, Major Commercial Projects.

The KVH project was the largest and most complex construction project in Graham’s 86-year history. It was highly successful and provided the much-needed healthcare facilities in the Okanagan on-budget and months ahead of schedule. All facilities are state-of-the-art – including features such as distance learning audio-video capabilities and a rooftop helipad – have aesthetics intentionally designed to aid in patient recovery, vastly increase healthcare delivery capacity in the Okanagan region and are built to LEED Gold standards. KVH is the largest and most sophisticated hospital project in B.C.’s history.
