The Canmore Family Multiplex is located within this busy tourist town and has many stakeholders. Because the project was designed for use by the whole community, the perspectives of all user groups required consideration. This meant minimal work was performed after hours or on weekends.

Components of the project include an aquatic centre, library, climbing centre, fitness centre, and a community multi-use space. Specifically, the aquatic centre consists of an eight-lane lap pool, zero beach leisure pool, lazy river, large and small water slides, steam room, and hot tub. The total gross floor area is approximately 7,150 square metres. The project also encompassed site work, utility connections, landscaping, and fencing to an area of approximately 24,280 square metres.

The Canmore Family Multiplex is expected to reach LEED Gold due to energy efficient design that includes the use of geothermal wells to cool the building and solar panels to assist with building heating.
