Graham Awarded CFB Trenton Maintenance Hangar
Working with consultant SNC-Lavalin, the 11,613 m2 (125,000 sq. ft.) two-hangar bay facility will include 4,500 m2 (48,438 sq. ft.) of office space and shop support areas. The steel structure will have 4.5 m (15 ft.) high steel trusses spanning 56.5 m (185 ft.) over the hangar bays. The exterior of the building will be built with architectural aluminum panels, curtain walls, spandrel glass, masonry and a Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofing system. To put the size of the facility into perspective, the hangar doors will measure 18 m (59 ft.) by 56 m (184 ft.). Construction is scheduled to begin next month, with a projected end date of February 2013.
