Graham Begins Construction on $407 Million Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford

Graham & Graham Capital – as part of the consortium, Access Prairies Partnership (APP) – officially began construction today on the new Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford provincial psychiatric facility. Construction on the CDN$407 million project will be complete by spring 2018.

“As part of APP, Graham is proud to be in partnership with the Saskatchewan Government and Prairie North Regional Health Authority to build the new Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford, commencing with today’s ground breaking,” says Grant Beck, President & CEO, Graham. “We were founded in Moose Jaw 89 years ago and we have lasting roots firmly embedded in the province, so you can understand our enthusiasm with this opportunity to continue to build on this legacy.”
This P3 (Private-Public-Partnership) project features a new 284-bed Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford that will have 188 beds replacing the existing 156-bed facility, and a 96-room secure unit for male and female offenders living with mental health issues. This is an innovative approach for delivering mental health care and supports to two separate groups of people with significant rehabilitation needs.

“Access Prairies is delighted to have been awarded the contract to design, build and maintain this unique facility,” says Diana MacGibbon, Access Prairies Partnership Bid Director. “We are very much looking forward to partnering with the Province and Prairie North Regional Health Authority to help realize the vision of an integrated mental health complex that delivers client-centered and therapeutic services to its clients.”
