Graham to Build the New Waterton Lakes National Park Visitor Centre
Graham is excited to announce its selection as the general contractor for the new Waterton Lakes National Park Visitor Centre.
This major project is designed to be the park’s key visitor facility. It will feature interior and exterior interpretive exhibit space highlighting the environmental and cultural importance of the park, and its significance to local Indigenous communities.
“Graham is proud to be part of such an important project, expanding our resume into interpretive, museum and cultural type projects,” says Colin Aitken, SVP, Buildings. “Safely delivering legacy projects that resonate with the community is what makes our jobs so meaningful.”
The interpretive component of the visitor centre was developed with input from local Indigenous communities. The interpretive exhibits will include audio-visual elements, interactive displays, and 3D topographic maps. The facility will also be home to a new interpretive theatre.
In addition to the visitor centre itself, this project also includes an administration building, new public washrooms, an outdoor public plaza, a natural materials playground, and much more.
This project is already underway, and is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2021.
