Graham and Partners Awarded South Segment of the West Calgary Ring Road Project
Graham is pleased to partner with VINCI and Carmacks, under the Calgary Safelink Partners consortium, to carry out the south segment of the West Calgary Ring Road project for Alberta Transportation in Calgary, Alberta.
The CAD$277 million contract covers the design and build of the Highway 8 to Old Banff Coach Road Segment of the project to complete the ring road.
With the West Calgary Ring Road (WCRR) project being completed in three parts, Calgary Safelink Partners will deliver the south segment including new road infrastructure of approximately five kilometres, four interchanges, seven bridges and a pedestrian underpass. The work includes earthworks, drainage works, surfacing construction, bridge structures and installation of street lighting.
“The key to these complex roadway projects is pulling professional people together who enjoy delivering infrastructure projects as one unified team. With all the challenges faced from project kick off, through design, construction, and right up to the final product handover, people work with people to achieve great things. Our team is excited to be part of connecting the final portion of the Calgary Ring Road” said Tom Cole, General Manager, Infrastructure.
This segment of the West Calgary Ring Road, which runs between Highway 8 and Old Banff Coach Road, is the final section of the Calgary Ring Road to be completed and will provide more than 100 km of continuous traffic around the city by 2024.
