Graham’s scope of work included construction of the 4,552 m2 East Division Police building and a 2,183 m2 forensic investigation facility on 27 acres of land. The East Division Police building is a non-combustible, one storey building of steel frame and masonry construction with two mechanical penthouses at roof level. The building is directly accessible to the public parking lot and includes offices for administrative, investigative, patrol and operational work. The forensic investigation facility provides support services performed by the Forensic Investigation Unit of the Durham Regional Police Services. The facility includes three bio-exam labs, a chemical and ballistics lab, administrative and investigative office spaces, and two vehicle examination bays.
This project was awarded the Ontario Public Works Association (OPWA) Project of the Year in the $10 - $50 million division.
