Graham was the Prime Contractor for removal of an elevated walkway and construction of new bicycle and pedestrian improvements outside of Kolthoff Hall at the University of Minnesota. Work included demolition of the concrete and steel elevated walkway that was in disrepair, soils excavation, lead paint abatement on the existing steel structure, installation of a new sidewalk and stairwell to route pedestrians, and electrical lighting. This project posed several challenging aspects, including: location right next to Washington Avenue where both mass transit buses and light rail are very active, work performed while students were present on campus, and all work had vibration limitations so that it did not disrupt chemical experiments within Kolthoff Hall.
