Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital

Location: Moose Jaw, SK

The Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital was the first in Canada to implement the IPD contract model complete with an IFOA (Integrated Form of Agreement). The involved the design and construction of a new 19,125 m2 community healthcare facility, with post-disaster engineering requirements, encompassing four major medical platforms: 72 single patient rooms (with 12 dedicated to Mental Health inpatients); 32 exam/treatment rooms in a universal care unit; 10 procedural spaces (including operating rooms, emergency rooms, minor procedures and maternity birthing rooms); and a 28-room exam/treatment collaborative care unit. The facility also includes diagnostic imaging, lab, pharmacy, dialysis, and administrative space.

Using the IPD model, our team of designers, construction managers, owners, and trade partners were all brought together to design the facility as a team while considering constructability and cost. A total of 13 trade partners were on-boarded through an RFP process in order to assist with the design of their specific scope in a cost effective manner.
