Phase II of Gilead Labs West Campus provides this research and development facility with laboratory and office space to house 200 scientists working on the development and manufacture of drugs for Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS and oncology, and brings the total building area to more than 120,000 sq. ft.

Highlights of this project phase included Graham self-performing the concrete structure, dealing with numerous oil and gas pipelines in the area, and strict coordination with CN Rail for site access and material deliveries due to the presence of a main track shunting station. The design-assist project model allowed Graham and major subcontractors to partner early on in the design process with the client and architect to provide expertise and advice throughout the design process.

Furthering its 16 year relationship with Gilead, and crediting the success of Phases I & II, Graham has also been awarded the Gilead API project (~$100M), entailing the construction of a process tower to manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s).
