Moose Jaw Joint-Use School
Location: Moose Jaw, SK
The Moose Jaw Joint Use School, delivered for the Prairie South School Division and Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, was constructed as a three-storey, 11,718 m² (126,000 sq. ft.) steel building with hollow core slabs. The facility accommodates approximately 900 students—500 from Prairie South and 400 from Holy Trinity—as well as an on-site daycare.
Design and Building Layout
Designed by P3 Architecture and aodbt, the school consists of two wings, each featuring flexible, state-of-the-art classrooms and its own gymnasium. A centrally located, shared resource centre supports collaborative learning and community use.
Architectural and Learning Features
The design incorporates “learning stairs,” offering an adaptable amphitheatre-style space for teaching, gatherings, performances, and social interaction. These open, multi-use areas complement the school’s focus on modern learning environments and versatility.
Educational Impact
By bringing two divisions together under one roof, the completed facility supports a new model of collaborative education in the region, providing students with contemporary learning spaces and shared amenities that enhance both academic and community programming.
