Graham is pleased to announce that, together with Stantec, we have been selected through a Progressive Design-Build process to deliver the new $152 million Brantford Sports and Entertainment Centre (SEC) in Brantford, Ontario. This collaborative delivery model allows our team to work closely with the City from early design through construction, ensuring cost certainty, schedule efficiency, and innovative solutions aligned with Brantford’s vision for a world-class, sustainable facility.
Located approximately 100 kilometres from Toronto, the SEC represents a major civic investment that will advance downtown revitalization and strengthen the city’s role as a regional destination for recreation, culture, and entertainment.
A Multi-Use Venue Supporting Community Growth
The new SEC will include 200,000 square feet of purpose-built space and seating for 5,300 spectators. Designed to host a wide range of uses including sports, concerts, trade shows, and cultural and community events. The facility will also become the new permanent home of the Brantford Bulldogs (OHL) hockey team.
As part of Brantford City Council’s broader downtown redevelopment strategy, the project is expected to generate $13.2 million in annual economic activity and create new local employment opportunities. The City’s long-term partnership with the Bulldogs is anticipated to further elevate Brantford’s reputation as a sports-friendly and entertainment-focused community.
Progressive Design-Build Collaboration
Graham, serving as general contractor, is working alongside Stantec as lead designer and Populous as sports and entertainment facility advisor. Stantec’s team also includes Indigenous-owned Two Row Architect that will integrate design features inspired by the community’s cultural roots.
“The Sports and Entertainment Centre will be an important addition to Brantford’s growing community, and we’re pleased to help deliver a venue that supports recreation, culture, and civic activity,” said David Owen, Project Director, Graham. “Working closely with our partners, we look forward to creating a space that the city can be proud of.”

Graham’s Experience Delivering Community and Recreation Destinations
This project adds to Graham’s extensive portfolio of sport, recreation, and entertainment venues across North America. In 2025, Graham completed two new facilities: the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach, Manitoba, and the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Construction is also underway on the Cameron Community Centre and Library in Burnaby, BC.
These multi-use community facilities support athletics, concerts, cultural programming, and public gatherings—reinforcing Graham’s capability and commitment to delivering complex venues that enhance community life.
