Belmont House Redevelopment and Expansion
Location: Toronto, ON
Project Overview
The Belmont House Redevelopment and Expansion project involves the construction of a new 11-storey building that will significantly increase long-term care capacity at the Belmont House senior care residence in midtown Toronto. Belmont House has served the local community for more than 170 years, and the redevelopment will expand the campus to provide 308 long-term care beds and 32 assisted living beds, alongside the existing 82 retirement living apartments.
Scope of Work and Site Configuration
The project is being delivered on a 14,245 m² site and incorporates a combination of one-, five- and seven-storey volumes, along with surface parking and landscaped courtyards. Graham’s scope includes structural construction, building envelope installation, interior fit-out, systems integration, and associated site works.
Construction activities are being carried out while the existing Belmont House facility remains fully operational. Maintaining safe access and minimizing disruption for residents, families and staff requires careful coordination of site logistics, staging and safety controls throughout the construction period.

Design and Resident Environment
The redevelopment is organized around eight “resident home areas” (RHAs), each designed to support smaller, more familiar living environments for 21 residents. Each RHA provides direct access to dining areas, activity spaces, lounges and bedrooms, supporting a community-focused approach to long-term care living.
Ground-level amenities will include a resident lounge, café, tuck shop and a renovated auditorium. Two upper floors will contain retirement living suites, enabling the campus to provide a continuum of care within a single location.
Sector Experience
The Belmont House redevelopment contributes to Graham’s portfolio of long-term care projects in Ontario, including facilities such as Ng Siu Chan Centre and Shalom Manor.
