Ng Siu Chan Centre Long-term Care Home

Project Overview

The Ng Siu Chan Centre will be a new long-term care home owned and operated by Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. The facility will be approximately 225,560 sq. ft. and will include one level of underground parking and a below-grade connection to the existing Yee Hong Finch Centre. The project will also include partial renovations to the existing building’s basement to accommodate the new underground link.

Building Program and Capacity

The development will involve the construction of a five-storey, 224-bed long-term care home located between the existing Yee Hong Finch Centre and Yee Hong Garden Terrace. Groundbreaking took place in November 2023, and the facility is scheduled to reach substantial completion in summer 2026.

Resident Services and Amenities

Once operational, the centre will provide a full spectrum of culturally appropriate services, including 24-hour nursing care within the long-term care home areas as well as adult day program services. Resident floors will include dining rooms, activity spaces, lounges and access to outdoor courtyards designed to support social interaction and a sense of community.

Ground Floor and Support Spaces

The ground level will accommodate administrative offices, commercial spaces, a commercial kitchen and back-of-house support areas.

Sustainable and Outdoor Features

The building design will incorporate a green roof, outdoor seating areas and enhanced common spaces within a fully air-conditioned environment.
