On September 18, Gracorp hosted a groundbreaking event for Edmonds Community Hub, a mixed-use development in Burnaby’s Edmonds neighbourhood that will deliver 480 rental homes alongside a community hub building. The Hub will include an auditorium, food bank, and arts and performance facilities. These spaces are intended to support community gatherings, cultural programming, and social services within the neighbourhood.
This project is made possible through BC Builds funding in collaboration with the Province of British Columbia, the City of Burnaby, and our partners at The Neighbourhood Church and Graham Construction. It demonstrates how public, private, and community partnerships can work together to accelerate the delivery of much-needed rental housing.

Construction by Graham has begun on site, with building completion anticipated in Fall 2030.
A New Mixed-Use Community Destination
Located at 7135 Walker Avenue and 7244 Arcola Street, the approximately 380,000 sq. ft. development will include a 50-storey purpose-built rental tower alongside a six-storey community hub.
Designed by MCMP Architects, the residential tower will deliver 480 rental homes, including 384 market rental units and 96 non-market rental units. The non-market homes will be located on floors two through 11, with market rental units on floors 12 through 49. Resident amenity spaces will be located at the ground level and on the uppermost floor.
The design also recognizes the heritage of the 1912 Edmonds Baptist Church by reinterpreting elements of its architectural character within the new development, creating a contemporary connection to the site’s history.
Once complete, the Edmonds Community Hub will bring together rental housing, community services, cultural facilities and neighbourhood amenities, supporting the continued evolution of Edmonds and the local community.
