Graham Awarded Bridgeland-Riverside Multimodal Pedestrian Bridge Project

July 15, 2026

Graham is proud to announce that it has been selected as the General Contractor for the Bridgeland-Riverside Multimodal Pedestrian Bridge project in Calgary, Alberta.

The infrastructure project includes a new bridge spanning from the north bank of the Bow River to St. Patrick’s Island. Designed to enhance safety, accessibility and sustainable transportation, the bridge will strengthen connections between the Bridgeland-Riverside community, the Bow River pathway system and St. Patrick’s Island.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the new multimodal connection expected to open in summer 2028.

Delivered in partnership with the City of Calgary and the Calgary General Hospital Legacy Fund Review Committee, the bridge will accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and other active transportation users.

Once complete, the Bridgeland-Riverside Multimodal Pedestrian Bridge will improve mobility, reconnect the community with the river valley and strengthen access to the surrounding pathway network and public spaces.
