Graham Begins Connector Construction in Airdrie

September 30, 2026

Graham has been selected as General Contractor for the 24th Street SW Cobblestone to Southwinds project in Airdrie, AB. Construction is now underway on the new roadway connection, which will improve connectivity for residents in the city’s growing southwest communities.

As Airdrie continues to expand, the project will help ease pressure on existing road networks by creating a more direct north-south transportation corridor. The new connection will extend 24th Street SW from Southwinds Drive to north of 40th Avenue SW, improving access within the city and supporting future community growth.

Project highlights include:

  • Approximately 1.4 km of two-lane roadway
  • New T-intersections
  • A bridge structure along the route
  • Installation of deep and shallow utilities
  • New pedestrian pathways

To minimize disruption during construction, temporary access roads will be built alongside the new roadway to help maintain traffic flow and access for residents.

The project is part of a broader vision for southwest Airdrie, supporting future growth alongside planned community amenities, including a new recreation centre and commercial developments along 24th Street SW.

Construction began in summer 2026 and is expected to be completed in summer 2027.
