Graham’s Spokane, Washington group is proud to announce the awarding of the Indigenous Health Simulation Center (IHSC) project at Washington State University’s Spokane campus. This groundbreaking initiative—among the first of its kind in the nation—will be located within the Health Education and Research Building and is set to become a national leader in Native health simulation capabilities.
Developed in partnership with WSU’s Native American Health Sciences (NAHS) department, the IHSC has been in planning since 2021 and is envisioned as a showpiece for the university. The facility will offer a unique educational environment where future healthcare practitioners can learn how to provide culturally informed, patient-centered care for Native American communities. A key focus of the center is to reduce harm caused by unintended implicit biases and missteps often associated with traditional Western medical practices.
The impact of this project is expected to extend far beyond the Spokane campus—supporting a shift in healthcare delivery that will be felt locally, statewide, and nationally. Through the integration of modern simulation technology with traditional healing practices, the IHSC will serve as both an educational hub and a symbol of progress in Indigenous healthcare.
As the Progressive Design-Build and General Contractor for this transformative project, Graham is honored to bring this vision to life. Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2026.
