Western Digital Cleanrooms and Structural Upgrades

Location: Fremont, CA

This data center project involved a phased upgrade to an existing occupied 100,000 sq. ft. facility, including a new two-storey, 30,000 sq. ft. steel structure supported by cast-in-place drilled piers.

The interior build-out included Group H-5 occupancy areas, Class 10 and Class 100 cleanrooms, a mechanical mezzanine and a service yard. Construction was sequenced in two phases to maintain ongoing operations and minimize disruption to building occupants.

The scope also included a 4,700 sq. ft. exterior walkway featuring an angular tension-fabric structure that connects buildings across the campus.
